The story revolves around an eccentric sheikh (Amr Waked) who`s adamant on bringing his passion of salmon fishing to the arid climes of his homeland, the film is itself a parable of blind faith`s triumph over reductionist logic. Ewan McGregor plays the Scottish burring Dr Alfred Jones, the marine biologist fisheries expert brought in to actualise the sheikh`s vision, while Emily Blunt plays the PR consultant who ultimately becomes his love interest in this eccentric English yarn.
Salmon Fishing in the Yemen may have a slightly cerebral premise, but that just conceals the fact that the film is, at heart, a feel-good romantic-comedy about the power of passion, love and belief. Director Lasse HallstrÃ
