R.I.P. – Tony Scott

Scott was reported to have jumped off the Vincent Thomas Bridge in Los Angeles Harbour yesterday at around 12.30pm, and the death is currently being investigated as a suicide. The U.S. Coast Guard has said that a suicide note was found in his black Toyota Prius, which was parked on one of the eastbound lanes on the bridge.

The director-producer began his career in commercials, and made his feature film debut in 1983 with The Hunger. He followed this up with Top Gun in 1986, and went on to direct Days of Thunder, The Last Boy Scout, True Romance, Crimson Tide, Enemy of the State, Man on Fire, The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3, and more, with his most recent being Unstoppable which starred Denzel Washington and Chris Pine.

Tony Scott formed Scott Free Productions with his equally famous brother, director Ridley Scott, and have been working together for decades producing numerous movies like The Grey, Cyrus, Welcome to the Rileys, Life in a Day, Prometheus and the upcoming Stoker.

We would like to express our heartfelt condolences and sadness to the family and friends of Scott, who is survived by his wife, Donna, and his two children.
