New trailer for Man Of Steel crash-lands on Planet Earth

The footage being cut together for Man Of Steel suggests an origin story that`s at once personal and universal: the notion of a child who grows up to be a hero, who saves a world that could treat him as god or monster.

From what we can see, it looks like Snyder has all the emotional beats down, showing a young Clark Kent sent away by his heartbroken father Jor-El (Russell Crowe) and interacting with his adoptive father Jonathan (Kevin Costner).

The trailer also gives us our first glimpse of Clark`s nemesis General Zod (Michael Shannon), as well as an extended look at the lady who would help our alien protagonist find his humanity, Lois Lane (Amy Adams).

Did you know the symbol on Superman`s chest isn`t merely the letter `S`, but has far greater meaning on his home planet of Krypton? You do now.

There`s been talk that Man Of Steel will open the door for more movies featuring the D.C. gallery of superheroes… and on the strength of the trailer, we`re a great deal more excited than apprehensive about that prospect!
