After it`s four-medal haul at the Golden Horse Awards in Taiwan, Ilo Ilo opened to numerous sell-out sessions and has passed the NT$1 million mark there over it`s first weekend. The film is distributed in Taiwan by IFilm and Festive Films.
Over at Philippines, Ilo Ilo held its Gala Premiere in Ilo Ilo on 1 December where all the proceeds went to a relief aid for typhoon Yolanda. The Gala Premiere in Manila happens tonight at Resorts World with Anthony Chen, Koh Jia Ler and Angeli Bayani in attendance. The film opens nationwide in the Philippines on 4 December.
On the awards front, Ilo Ilo continues it`s wininning streak when it received the Audience Award at the 14th TOKYO FILMEX. The film participated in the festival`s Talent Campus Tokyo Projects (formerly known as Next Masters Tokyo).
Ilo Ilo is also nominated for the 56th Asian Pacific Film Festival (13-15 Dec) to be held in Macao in the following categories – Best Picture, Best Actress (Angeli Bayani), Best Supporting Actress (Yeo Yann Yann), and Best Screenplay (Anthony Chen).
