Treasure Hunt

Treasure Hunt tries to angle itself as a family comedy, with a throng of child actors and a feeble attempt to milk some laughs with slapstick humour so puerile and cliched that it will have viewers grimacing in agony. In fact, the only remotely funny thing about the movie is entirely subtextual: Cecilia Cheung`s look of pained constipation throughout the entirety of the film as she valiantly tries to salvage her roll, in an attempt as futile as putting a band-aid on an amputated limb.

Prolific film creator Wong Jin is the writer, producer and director behind this mighty mess, and definitely bites off more than he can chew by trying to juggle all three roles, a fact sadly evident from the atrocity of all three aspects, with shoddy camera work, cheap looking CGI and an illogical, painfully humourless script.

Oh, and we finally found a redeeming point to the movie: the child actors are cuteâ€
