Ostensibly inspired by real events, Won`t Back Down centers on two single moms who`re trying to get their young `uns through a failing elementary school, and end up taking on the bureaucratic red tape of the system as a result. Maggie Gyllenhaal plays Jamie, a single mom with a dyslexic daughter, while Oscar Nominee Viola Davis plays Nona, a discouraged educator who coincidentally teaches at the same school, and has a kid with his own set of problems. Naturally, the moms join forces to execute a legal clause allowing them to take over how the school is run.
