Walking With Dinosaurs 3D – New poster

Let`s get one important fact out of the way: the star of this movie is not a triceratops. Actually, it`s a pachyrhinosaurus a herbivore with a huge bony frill atop its head and an extremely pronounced nose. Our star is Patchi, who grows from the runt of the pack to the leader of the herd, his story told over the course of mass migrations and epic confrontations with a gorgosaurus named Gorgon the smaller, more streamlined cousin of the famous T-Rex.

The film is the big-screen `sequel` of sorts to BBC`s television documentary of the same name: with an added plot, voiceovers, and even more impressive, advanced CGI. The film crew scoured the world looking for the right landscapes to serve as backdrops for their dinosaurs. Eventually, they chose Alaska and an island off the coast of New Zealand. The CGI dinosaurs were painted in amongst the scenery and animated.

Walking With Dinosaurs: The 3D Movie opens on 19 December 2013.
