2015 will see the eighth edition of the convention, which was attended by over 40,000 people across two days last year. The press preview event was held at the newly-opened DC Comics Super Heroes Cafe at the Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands, ahead of the convention itself, which will be held on 12th and 13th September at the Marina Bay Sands Convention Center.
Three of the special guests being flown in for the event, comics artist Adam Hughes, toy designer Huck Gee and cosplayer/burlesque dancer Stella Chuu, were on hand to field questions from the media. All three are attending STGCC for the first time.
Exclusive products, including figures of Maria Hill and Iron Man from Hot Toys, were on display. In addition, we got to take in the décor of the cafe, which includes DC Comics artwork, collectible statues and figures, posters autographed by the likes of Adam West, Christian Bale and Heath Ledger, as well as life-sized replicas of the 1989 Batmobile and the Bat-pod. We also got to tuck into Dark Knight charcoal sliders, decorated with a slice of cheese cut in the shape of a Bat-symbol. A tasty, novel kickoff to a weekend of geekiness!
