Birdman was named Best Picture at the 2015 Academy Awards, and it’s director Alexandro G. Iñárritu was Best Director, the film also won two other Oscars – Best Original Screenplay, and Best Cinematography.
Eddie Redmayne (The Theory of Everything) won Best Actor and Julianne Moore (Still Alice) was Best Actress. The night’s other big winner was Wes Anderson’s The Grand Budapest Hotel, which tied with Birdman for four Oscars. Damien Chazelle’s Whiplash was the only other multiple-winner with three Oscars, including J.K. Simmons’ Best Supporting Actor win. The Best Supporting Actress Oscar went to Patricia Arquette (Boyhood).
