`Hulk Smash!` Yes folks, it`s now official. The gargantuan superhero movie that we know fondly as The Avengers has obliterated American box office records, clocking in $200 million on its opening weekend. We were going to say `I told you so`… but then we realized that we didn`t put our predictions in print. Dammit!

The Avengers has become the first film to break the American box office records of $200 million in just 3 days,  beating out original all-time top grosser, Harry Potter 7 Part 2, which took in $169 million on its opening weekend.

The worldwide total gross of The Avengers is already past $641.8 million, which just adds `global phenomena` to the legion of reasons why you should catch the film, including `most superhero-induced explosions in an action movie`, `best casting ever` and `villain with overly posh accent that still manages to be uber-cool`.
