Local acclaimed director Royston Tan’s 陈子谦 latest feature movie 3688 tops the opening weekend box office chart for a local movie released outside of Chinese New Year this year!
3688 collected SGD $191,000 from 17th – 20th September and performed better than other local movies in their opening weekends including 1965, BRING BACK THE DEAD, etc. 3688 opened last Thursday on 22 screens islandwide.
The movie, directed by Royston Tan after a 7-year hiatus, stars local singer Joi Chua 蔡淳佳, who is making her big screen debut; getai legend Liu Ling Ling 刘玲玲; theatre actor Michael Tan 陈国辉; veteran Malay artiste Rahimah Rahim and introducing popular YouTube star Shigga Shay 希克旋.
