Bay has maintained that Transformers 4 will not reboot the franchise – in fact, it takes place exactly four years after the huge war in Chicago. The story will move on from there, with a brand new cast, and a very different feeling from the first trilogy.
No word on who Reynor will be playing in the film just yet, but he`s beat out some pretty heavy competition to win the part… so hopes are high he`ll be as memorable as Shia LaBeouf`s sweet, goofy Sam Witwicky. Bay is certainly confident: “I just hired a great new actor for Transformers 4 to star against Mark Wahlberg. Jack Reynor, he is an Irish kid that came to America with 30 bucks in his pocket. Pretty ballsy. Seriously who does that? Anyway I spotted him in a great little Irish movie What Richard Did. This kid is the real deal.
