Feng was last seen publicly in May when she called off a planned Taiwan concert, citing her raspy voice. It was only during a check-up that she realised she was suffering from fourth stage lung cancer.
Her relatives had kept the secret of Feng`s death following the singer`s wish not to sadden her fans ahead of the Chinese Lunar New Year festivities. Survived by a 23-year-old son, her ashes were buried at her birth place in Taoyuan, near Taipei.
One of Mandarin pop`s most beloved songstress, actress and often endearingly known as the queen of hats, the 1980s Taiwanese pop diva had a huge Asian following all over the world.
We have attached a video of Feng performing one of her one of her trademark songs during her 35th Anniversary Live Concert, below.
Rest in peace, Feng Fei Fei.
