Divergent – New trailer

Based on a series of dystopian young adult novels written by Veronica Roth, Divergent is set in a world where people are classified according to five factions which correspond to values like Abnegation (read: self-sacrifice), Dauntless (courage), Candour (truthfulness), Erudite (wisdom) and Amity (peaceful). Tris has been brought up in the colourless, self-sacrificing Abnegation faction… but come her sixteenth birthday, she has to make her choice. Should she stay with her family, or go with who her heart tells her she is?

Sounds a bit like The Hunger Games to us which is actually a good thing considering how good that film turned out to be. Check out the new trailer  (which debuted during MTV`s VMAs) after the jump, which depict Tris as she navigates life in her chosen faction, alongside fellow initiates Christina (Zoe Kravitz) and Peter (Miles Teller)… not to mention her trainers Four (Theo James) and Eric (Jai Courtney). And talk about casting coups: Oscar winner Kate Winslet has been cast as Jeanine Matthews, the brainy head of the Erudite faction.

Divergent
opens in March 2014.
