Din Tao – To Be Screened Here

Distributed by Twentieth Century Fox Taiwan, Din Tao: Leader of the Parade opened on January 20, 2012 and has scaled new heights in Taiwan`s local film history:

– Biggest opening day for 2012 in Taiwan, Din Tao outperformed all the opening day box-office for local and foreign films during the Chinese New Year period, raking in an average of NT$10 million (S$424,000) per day.

– The film had grossed an astonishing box-office total of NT$312 million (S$13 million) in Taiwan since opening on January 20, 2012, making it Taiwan`s No. 1 local film for 2012.

Inspired by the true story of Taichung`s Chio-Tian Folk Drums & Arts Troupe, the film depicts the struggles and hardships a group of youth endures while engaging in the diminishing art of folk drums culture. Amidst the clash of troupe rivalry, one embarks with the anti-hero on the road to recognition from his peers and father.  

Din Tao stars popular Taiwan celebrities Alan Kuo and Alien Huang, and marks the film debut of Golden Bell Award-winning director Fung Kai (Green Forest, My Home). Other cast members include TV screen actress Crystal Lin (Sisters) and veteran Chun Liao.

The movie`s original movie soundtrack will be available at local major music retail stores soon. Produced by musician Fred Lui (Cape No. 7), the soundtrack features title track “Din Tao performed by Alan Kuo.
