Emotional but over-the-top at times, highly successful director Jang Hoon takes us on a journey back to the 1980s during the Gwangju Uprising and tells the backstory behind the revolt’s turning point.
Intriguing, whimsical, and even heartwarming...

Coco (2017) – Review

"Coco" pops off the screen in a blast of colour, humour and heart. Bring tissues.
A beautifully written biographical film of Billie Jean King, her fight for feminism, and becoming the world’s best female tennis player, "Battle Of The Sexes" steals your heart with genius performances, mainly by Emma Stone and Steve Carell.

Manhunt (追捕) (2017)

"Manhunt" marks John Woo’s comeback to the Asian-cop cinema but is cheap entertainment and flashy parody at best or clichéd and senseless subplots connected by sloppy writing at worst.
A seemingly lost art in most crime thrillers nowadays, “Wind River” is satisfying and convincing in that the audience is never ahead of the characters as the plot slowly unravels.
It’s far from great, and not always very good, but at least it steers clear of awful.
A touching story about Queen Victoria and her closest confidant, "Victoria & Abdul" is narratively thin but mildly satisfying for viewers who like royalty-commoner tales.
"A Bad Moms Christmas" impresses with hilariously well-written dialogues delivered by a fantastic cast who flawlessly portrays six unique yet relatable mom personalities.
“Brad’s Status” lets us into the mind of a 47-year-old man and his struggle with his midlife crisis, serving both as a rude awakening and mirror for those obsessed with social status.
Apart from mixing dry humor and classic Thai-commercial gags and slow-mos, 'Oversize Cops' makes the best out of a mediocre cast with the help of an incredible script and fantastic editing.
