85th Academy Awards - Seth MacFarlane to host
BEVERLY HILLS, CA – Seth MacFarlane will host the 85th Academy Awards®, telecast producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron announced today. This will be MacFarlane's first appearance on Oscar's stage. The 85th Academy Awards will be broadcast live on Oscar® Sunday, February 24, on the ABC Television Network.

Michelle Chong's Debut Film To Open Taiwan's Asian Film Festival
Already Famous - Michelle Chong’s directorial debut and Alien Huang’s first Singapore movie - is selected as the Opening Film for the Asian Film Festival in Taiwan (12 to 16 October 2012). Both Chong and Huang attended the press conference chaired by renowned film director Hou Hsiao-Hsien in Taipei yesterday. This is the first time a Singapore movie has been chosen to be an Opening Film in a Taiwan film festival.

Pitch Perfect - New Trailer
United International Pictures has released the trailer of upcoming comedy, Pitch Perfect - which will feature lots of new and mashed-up takes on old and current hit songs. Directed by Avenue Q's Jason Moore and starring Anna Kendrick, Brittany Snow, Anna Camp, Rebel Wilson, Alexis Knapp, Adam DeVine and Freddie Stroma, the film opens here November 8, 2012.

The Wolverine - 1st Photo Unleashed
20th Century Fox has unleashed the first official photo of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine in next year's The Wolverine. No official synopsis has been released so far, but we know the plot involves Wolverine travelling to Japan to train with a samurai warrior. Watch this space for more updates. Directed by James Mangold, the film will see a worldwide release on 26 July 2013.

Gandalf, Gollum, hobbits, dwarves, elves, man and monsters are all back after nine months, yes, the first trailer came out last December. As we all know, this will be the first film in a trilogy which will begin with An Unexpected Journey opening in Singapore on 13 December 2012. Part 2's The Desolation Of Smaug on 12 December 2013, and part 3's There And Back Again on 17 July 2014.

Imperfect - Re-releasing in PG13
Released under a NC16 rating, local movie Imperfect will soon be screened to a younger audience with a new PG13 version on 27 September, 2012. The PG13 film, which has 3-minute cut, will be showing at three Golden Village multiplexes namely GV VivoCity, GV Yishun and GV Tampines. This also marks the first local movie to have duo-ratings in its theatrical release.
