Most Hollywood projects based off films from other countries try to distance themselves from the originals by either transposing the film to an American setting or changing the context of the story, but David Fincher seems unafraid to tackle Stieg Larsson's much beloved novel The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo head on: he will be retaining the Swedish setting, instead of transposing the entire story world to America.
This means that the comparisons between actresses Rooney Mara and Noomi Rapace will be inevitable. But judging from recent pictures released, Mara really looks to be dialling up that attitude. We're really hoping for her to kick ass in the movie, out in December.
