Li Bingbing cast in Transformers 4
Michael Bay and Paramount Pictures jointly announced today that Chinese actress Li Bingbing (Resident Evil: Retribution) has been cast in the eagerly awaited “TRANSFORMERS 4.” The actress joins Mark Wahlberg, Stanley Tucci, Kelsey Grammer, Jack Reynor, Nicola Peltz and Sophia Myles in the fourth installment in the hit series of movies based on the best-selling Hasbro toyline.

Iceman Cometh 3D - new poster
The official poster for Iceman Cometh 3D has been revealed. A remake of the 1989 Yuen Biao movie, The Iceman Cometh, which will be shot in 3D, stars Donnie Yen as a chief commander of the Imperial Guard in Ming Dynasty China who is buried and frozen under an avalanche only to be unearthed and brought back to life in contemporary China.

Singapore's Ilo Ilo receives 15-min standing ovation at Cannes
Director Anthony Chen's first full-length feature, Ilo Ilo , which was selected for The Director's Fornight at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival premiered last night to a 15 minutes standing ovation. The standing ovation at the premiere would have lasted longer if not for the request by the organisers to stop as they had to prepare for the next screening.

Sony Pictures nets Angry Birds movie
Sony Pictures Entertainment has won the exclusive worldwide distribution rights to the eagerly anticipated Angry Birds animated film, making it one of the most high-profile deals of the year. The 3D film is being developed, produced, and financed by Rovio Entertainment and will be released worldwide by Sony Pictures on July 1, 2016. Several major studios pursued the global film rights in recent weeks, with Sony Pictures Entertainment emerging as the winner.
