Who are we kidding – how is it possible to forget? If you’re one of the fans of the comic book character, you’re likely to remember the film that launched a thousand angry fanboy blog posts. Daredevil was widely met with pans from critics and jeers from lovers of the comics, many citing Affleck’s performance as one of the many terrible things about the film. So when Affleck Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was announced, people cried foul and questioned director Zack Snyder’s choice of actor.
Well truth is, Affleck has been constantly reminded of this since donning the Batman costume, and he has a lot of regrets about his role in Daredevil.
In a recent interview with NPR, Affleck admitted that he does not have great memories of his first superhero role. Affeck said,
“Indeed I have regrets about Daredevil… Look, if I thought we were remaking Daredevil, I’d be out there picketing myself.”
He explained that his frustration from the film came from high standards that he sets for himself, but that only serves to motivate him to do better with Batman. Let’s hope then that Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice won’t see Affleck picketing on its opening weekend.
